Chip Neville, MFA
Production History
Chip Neville began his career in the print industry just a few years prior to the integration of digital means. He was cross trained in traditional paste-up, Typesetting Camera, and Pre-press Stripping.
As digital technology was integrated into the printing industry Mr Neville operated the first Digital Imagesetting in Pinellas County for the SOS printing Center (now Promoco). The Linotronic L-100 coulpd print to paper negatives or direct to plate which was a very big deal in 1988.
It wasnt long until Chip moved to Baltimore and working for design firm Barton Gillette under designer Ed Gold. There he illustrated his first childrens book (My First Dictionary). Upon returning to Florida Chip was a Graphic Illustrator II for the State of Florida. After several more production positions Chip was hired as Art Director and senior illustrator of International Learning Systems of North America Inc. where thousands of pages of childrens books, posters games and packaging were produced under his direction and design.
Starting in the early 2000s, Chip began what became a career as an academic. At the same time he started a robust freelance business with clients such as apartmentsetters.com and Coordinated Child care of Pinellas County. Today Chip continues to produce illustration, animation, digital audio, and print design for select clients including various non-profit organizations in the Bay area such as Sonic Foundations and WSLR Radio in Sarasota.

As Art Director of International Learning Systems of North America, I created thousands of illustrations for primary grades K-3.These were utilized in Books, Posters, Games, Packaging, and Sales materials.
Journey to Miracle Land was a collabrative project with Suncoast Center for Community Mental Health. This game was designed for use with "Solution Focused" therapy techniques in family counseling. Students practiced finding self directed ways of managing problems and behaviors. A lifesized game was produced by hand on 10'x10' canvas.
While employed as a Graphic Illustrator 2 for the State of Florida, this is typical of the mostly internal documents we created mostly for education, publishing or presentation.
Coordinated Child Care of Pinellas County produced two annual newsletters. These publications purpose was to educate and communicate to its' community of individuals and providers utilizing this service Funding for this project came from the Juvenile Wealfare Board of Pinellas County.
Last and certainly not least, is good old bread and butter, direct mail. I have procuced so much material in this category. Suffice it to say, this is representative of that aspect of my design sense.
